Let the Games Begin

We have finally begun the restoration. It is surreal to wake up and know this old house will become new and refreshed! The transformation will be stark and we will have some amazing before and after images to share. Everyone tells me this process is a nightmare. Let’s see! I am project managing this phase on my own, and the lead up has been pretty easy to manage, however it would be much better if I was getting paid as its extremely time-consuming! The first hiccup we encountered before we even began, was the price jump on the deck. The original price for our deck restoration jumped significantly when we learned the initial included the cheapest wood optional available. It pretty much doubled! We are opting for cedar which is one of the most environmentally sound types of wood to use for decking.
